ITALIAN in NH Lakes Region  

I was born in Italy and my maiden name is Graziosa Distefano. I finished my education in Italy, and in 1968 moved to the USA where I met my husband, Jerry Grady. We raised our family in southern NH, and, after vacationing in the Lakes Region for several years, we loved it so much that we moved here permanently in 2001. 

Although the United States has become my home and I love being an American, I have never forgotten my native country. I visit Italy on a yearly basis to maintain my language skills and become familiar with the latest trends in Italian culture.

Since moving to this area, I have dreamed of establishing an Italian cultural center in the Lakes Region. I want to share my knowledge of Italy and to provide an opportunity to learn the language while sharing as much as possible about the customs and culture of this beautiful country.

I have been teaching lessons in Italian language, cooking and culture since 2003. I have taught private and group language lessons both in my home and in a classroom setting.  I taught Italian cooking at the Laconia Adult Education three nights per week for two years. The attendees exceeded the capacity of the facility and the waiting list grew longer.
